QGA Q&A: Kate McFadyen

Meet Kate McFadyen.  Don’t be deceived by her Scottish last name. Kate’s a southern belle from Vass, North Carolina.  Before making her way into the wild world of Washington politics as QGA’s newest staff assistant, she attended  the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.  Go Tar Heels!   

Read on for the answers to Kate’s QGA Q&A:

How long have you been in DC? “7 months.”

What’s your dream job? “A staff assistant at Quinn Gillespie, obviously.” 

If you were a carbonated beverage, what woudl you be? “I don’t drink soda so I’d have to be champagne.” 

Did you have a nickname growing up? “My parents called my ‘Katie-Beth.’”

What’s your go-to happy hour spot? “Public Bar.  There’s lots of space, plenty of fun and it’s right across the street from QGA.” 

What’s one piece of advice you’d offer to someone moving to DC? “Move into a group house or a large house with lots of roommates you don’t already know.  It’s a great way to meet people.”
